SHINE
Shine is a personal growth program for teenage girls incorporating practical, inspirational and experimental experiences through an 10-week course. The program will be run by trained facilitators during one or two high school periods per week.
The intent of shine is to create an environment where teenage girls discover for themselves that they are valuable. That they are created as a ‘one of a kind’. They can effect the course of their own life. They have much to offer and that there is a purpose for their life. This program addresses life principles and creates an environment where girls can form values which will become the foundation to assist them make great decisions about their lives and futures.
Our goal is to communicate the values of strength + worth + purpose to teenage girls on the Mornington Peninsula, to help them successfully navigate from girlhood into womanhood.
There is a mindset amongst youth today that life doesn't have much purpose. This creates a sense of living for the moment with little regard for consequences or the future. The impact of this 'meaninglessness of life' is made apparent by the fact that Australia holds one of the highest youth suicide and heroin addiction rates in the world.
The importance of instilling purpose, hope, belonging and values into this generation is crucial in light of the fact that by 2010 there will be more young people between the ages of 12 to 30 than any other age bracket.
Shine is all about value. Placing value on girlhood
A 10 week program to equip high school girls to
· discover themselves as beautiful, precious & valuable
· make good decisions,
· change & impact any situation by investing into it,
· dare to dream, see a preferable future, and move confidently towards it
Shine has One Truth: I AM SOMEBODY
The shine program's overriding truth is that every girl is ‘somebody’, she counts, her life has tremendous value. She is body, soul and spirit. There are 4 key areas covered:
1. You are somebody – through skincare, makeup, hair care, nail care and nutrition girls discover their value in their uniqueness
2. Decisions Determine Destiny – explores the freedom of choice in each girls life. Covers feelings, peer-pressure, problem solving, etiquette, and social behavior.
3. Giving and Getting – how to sow a better harvest. Deportment, fitness ‘ what you want and how to get it’.
4. Shine – Identifying dreams. How to Shine and be your best!

Financial - all donations over $2 are tax deductable. Please contact Shine for details.
Products - (due to health regulations we can only accept new products) - make-up, skin-care, nailpolish, hair products etc.. for more specific needs for this year, please contact Shine.
2. Be apart of the team
We currently serve our 3 local high-schools (Mornington, Dromana & Rosebud) and are in need of additional Christian women to serve on this team.
